Privacy Policy for mobile app users
Last updated: 5 May 2026
About this policy. This Privacy Policy applies to the CoinQuant mobile applications available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. If you also use our web platform at coinquant.ai, coinquant.io, or coinquant.co, please review our Web Privacy Policy, which covers features available there that are not part of the mobile applications.
1. Introduction
Welcome to CoinQuant, a trading research and backtesting platform owned and operated by COINQUANT FZCO (hereinafter referred to as "We", "Us", "Our Company", "CoinQuant"). Protecting your privacy and personal data is a priority for us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, store, process, and use your information when you access or use our mobile applications on iOS and Android (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy and consent to the collection and use of your data as described herein.
The App is focused on trading research and backtesting. It does not include wallet connection, on-chain reward claim functionality, or public leaderboard features; those features are available only on our web platform and are governed by our Web Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
To provide, operate, and improve the App, CoinQuant collects information in several categories:
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect personal information such as your first and last name, email address, phone number (if provided). Subscriptions in the App are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). Payment details such as credit card numbers and billing addresses are collected and processed by Apple or Google directly under their respective privacy policies, and are not received or stored by CoinQuant.
- Subscription and purchase data. When you subscribe through the App, we receive a transaction identifier and subscription status from Apple or Google so that we can validate your purchase, provision the correct features and credits to your account, and provide customer support. We do not receive your payment method, billing address, or other financial details from the stores.
- Activity data. We collect data related to your use of the App, including the strategies you create, the backtests you run, the research and analytics tools you interact with, and your subscription preferences.
- Device and technical information. We collect IP addresses, device type and model, operating system and version, device identifiers, mobile advertising identifiers (where applicable and only with your consent), crash logs, and usage logs to optimize App performance, debug issues, and protect against fraud.
- Communications. Communications between you and our support team, including any attachments you choose to send, may be stored for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and improve our Services.
3. App Permissions
The App requests access to certain device features only when needed to deliver a feature you have initiated. We never access these features in the background, and you can revoke any permission at any time from your device settings.
- Camera. Used solely when you choose to take a photo to attach to a support ticket. We do not access the camera at any other time, and we do not use it for facial recognition, biometric analysis, advertising, or profiling.
- Microphone. Used solely when you tap the voice input control on the dashboard to dictate a query instead of typing. Audio is processed only for the purpose of transcribing your input into text. We do not use microphone access for ambient listening, voice fingerprinting, advertising, or profiling.
- Photo Library / Gallery. Used solely when you choose to attach an existing image to a support ticket. We access only the specific images you select; we do not scan, index, or read the contents of your photo library.
- Push Notifications. Used to deliver alerts you have opted into, such as backtest completion notices and account updates. You can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings.
3.1 Retention of camera, microphone, and photo data
Images attached to support tickets are stored only for the lifecycle of that ticket and are deleted when the ticket is resolved and closed. Voice audio captured for dictation is processed for transcription and is not retained on our servers afterward — only the resulting text is kept, and only as part of the request you initiated. We do not use these inputs to train models, build profiles, or share with third parties for advertising.
4. How We Use Your Information
The information we collect is used to operate and improve the App, deliver the Services, and provide a secure user experience. Specifically, we use it to:
- Validate App Store and Google Play purchases and manage your subscription status and account;
- Provide research, backtesting, and analytical features, and surface performance metrics;
- Enable optional App features such as voice input on the dashboard and image attachments on support tickets;
- Communicate important updates, notices, and technical alerts about your account or the App;
- Respond to your support requests;
- Detect and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized activity;
- Comply with applicable legal, regulatory, and tax obligations.
CoinQuant does not sell, trade, or rent personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. We do not use camera, microphone, or photo library data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than the specific feature you initiated.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
CoinQuant may share your information with service providers who perform services on our behalf. For the App, these currently include:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — cloud hosting and storage;
- Analytics providers — to understand aggregate App usage and improve performance;
- Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — to deliver push notifications on iOS and Android respectively;
- Customer support tooling — to manage and respond to support tickets;
- Speech-to-text providers — to transcribe voice input when you use the dictation feature.
In-app subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple Inc. (for iOS) and Google LLC (for Android), who act as the merchant of record for those transactions. Information you provide during purchase is governed by Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies, not by this Privacy Policy.
These third parties are contractually obligated to maintain confidentiality and use the information only for the purposes of providing services to CoinQuant.
Information may also be disclosed to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of CoinQuant, its users, or others. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of the transaction, subject to applicable laws and regulations.
6. Data Retention
CoinQuant retains personal and account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. When you delete your account, all associated strategies, backtests, and research data are permanently erased from our systems. Minimal records of subscription activity (such as transaction identifiers and purchase dates received from Apple and Google) may be retained for legal, regulatory, and tax compliance, including auditing obligations.
Images attached to support tickets and audio captured for voice input are not retained beyond what is necessary to fulfill the specific request: support ticket attachments are deleted alongside the ticket once it is resolved and closed, and voice audio is discarded immediately after transcription.
7. Account and Data Deletion
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time:
- From within the App, in Settings → Account → Delete Account;
- From our web app at coinquant.ai, in Settings → My Profile;
- Or by emailing support@coinquant.ai from the email address linked to your account.
Once your deletion request is processed, we will permanently remove your personal data from our active systems within a reasonable timeframe, subject only to the legal retention exceptions described in Section 6.
IMPORTANT: Subscriptions purchased through the App Store or Google Play must be cancelled directly in your Apple ID or Google account settings. Deleting your CoinQuant account does not automatically cancel an active subscription billed through the stores. To avoid further charges, please cancel your subscription with Apple or Google before deleting your account.
8. Security
We implement commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Security measures include encryption in transit and at rest, secure server hosting, and controlled access protocols.
Despite these precautions, no method of data transmission or storage is completely secure, and CoinQuant cannot guarantee absolute protection against all potential security breaches or unauthorized access.
9. User Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access or request a copy of your data, correct or update inaccurate or incomplete information, request deletion of your personal data, or object to or restrict the processing of your data. To exercise these rights, you may contact us at support@coinquant.ai, and CoinQuant will respond in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
10. Tracking and Advertising
The App does not use third-party advertising trackers. The App does not track you across other companies' apps and websites for advertising purposes, and we do not share your personal information with advertising networks for the purpose of targeted advertising.
On iOS, where applicable, you will be presented with an App Tracking Transparency prompt and may decline tracking at any time without losing access to any feature of the App.
11. International Data Transfers
Your personal data may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside your home jurisdiction, including the United Arab Emirates and other locations where CoinQuant operates. By using the App, you consent to such transfers, provided they comply with applicable data protection regulations.
12. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. CoinQuant does not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, we will take prompt steps to delete such information.
13. Changes to this Privacy Policy
CoinQuant may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and the "Last updated" date will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. For significant changes that materially affect your rights or obligations, CoinQuant may notify you via email or in-app notice.
14. Contact Information
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding your personal information or this Privacy Policy, please contact us at support@coinquant.ai.
CoinQuant will make reasonable efforts to respond to inquiries promptly and address your privacy concerns in accordance with applicable laws.
